Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Lymphatic drainage massage is very different than a ''normal'' massage, this is an ounce and a half of pressure. This style of massage will stimulate your lymphatic system, reduce swelling and bruising. This is best for post surgery swelling and bruising, liposuction massage, reduce coloring and build up in scars. When booking this session it is generally 1-2 specific areas for 30 minutes, example: Liposuction on abdomen and need to work on scars, swelling, and prevent fat pockets from building up.
Hot Stone Massage
Hot therapy includes hot packs, creams, and towels used specifically to aid in pain management, increase relaxation, and soften muscle tissue to increase circulation. Hot Stone Placement massage is the application of hot stones on specific points on the back to increase relaxation and energy flow.
Cupping massage is the use of silicone suction cups to apply ‘negative pressure’ or suction to the tissue with glide. This treatment brings blood to the surface and provides a feeling of superficial myofascial release in ways that compression massage techniques can not. We combine the 'moving cupping' technique with Swedish Massage for an ultra soothing experience. Cupping is widely used in Traditional Chinese Medicine among other practices around the world. At Rapture, we rarely leave the cups stationary for any significant length of time.
Disclaimer: cupping therapy may leave light bruises.
Hurt your shoulder during a workout, or moved wrong picking something up? This is the massage for you! We will use our time to focus on that specific pain that is preventing you from doing daily activities and work on reducing pain, increasing mobility, stretching and reducing swelling. A 60 minute session will focus on your specific area and about 15-20 (or less) to do general massage on remainder of the body. If you are wanting to focus on an injury and still receive and full body massage, I recommend a 90 or 120 minute session.
Prenatal massage is for any lady who is in their second trimester (14 weeks) until the day of delivery! This style of massage is all based on how YOUR body feels. It aims to relax tense muscles, ease sore spots, improve circulation and mobility, and just make you feel good.
During a prenatal massage you will be side lying, with pillows to make you the most comfortable. I will avoid certain areas, or pressure points, that induce labor. Once your OB has cleared you to start labor, I can start using those pressure points and also teach your partner or family member to use at home to induce and help contractions during labor! If you have never had a massage, do not hesitate to reach out about any questions or concerns you have.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue does NOT have to be painful, instead we are working in the "hurts so good" pressure. Aimed at particularly troubled spots along the body (like knotted areas between muscle fiber), deep tissue massages use a mixture of slow, firm, more intense strokes or friction to work out the body. This is good for the person that is more active and their body is sore more often
